Hall Place Kent
Hall Place, a Grade II listed mansion, is a large Georgian-style house located in the Medway Valley on the North West side of the village of Leigh.
One of our proudest projects, restoring the roof at Hall Place using Westmorland slate required meticulous planning and craftsmanship to preserve its historical integrity. Westmorland slate, known for its durability and traditional aesthetic, was laid in diminishing courses, with larger slates at the eaves and smaller ones near the ridge.
The restoration process involved reinforcing the roof structure, ensuring it can support the heavy slate, and carefully matching the slate's color and texture to maintain the building’s Georgian character. This ensured a lasting, authentic restoration for our client.
